Salary Negotiation Issue

I went for a job interview for a job in the same field I was just let go from due to a company bankruptcy. I was working in the heavy truck parts field as a salesman.

I was interviewed by the parts manager Karen. She asked me what experience I had I told her I worked for Mack trucks for seven years, I worked for Acme Markets fleet maintenance department for six years, I worked for TRL Inc for ten years in their fleet maintenance department, I also worked selling parts for GM and Isuzu trucks, Kenworth, Volvo, Freightliner, etc.

Well then she asked me how much I made at my last job. I told her and she said that much hmmm! She told me well at this time we are not looking for anyone but thanks for coming in! We will keep your application on file and call you if anything comes up?

Then thier was a knock at her door and Mark walked in. He was the general manager of the facility he reconized me from when he worked with me before asked me what I was doing there and I said applying for a job! He said your hired see you Monday, Karen jumped out of her chair said this is how much money he wants? Mark said give it to him see you Monday!

Now after working there several months I helped them take a inventory in which $48000.00 of inventory was missing. I stayed to help double check the inventory and discovered the mistake for the missing inventory! Karen said the best thing I ever did was hire you???? Hahahaha
