Persistence Paid off in My Son's Job Search

This is my younger son's story. An MBA student, he had his heart set on a specific company. He was elated, when he was called for an interview. Everything went well but for the outcome. He was not selected. But he did not lose heart and contacted one of the interviewer through a senior who was already on the rolls of the same company.

He asked the interviewer, "Maam, as far as I know my interview went off pretty well, so please tell me where did I go wrong". He was told that they had only five vacancies to fill and he was sixth on the list though he had fared quite well.

My son further told the interviewer "Maam, I have decided to work with your company and I will. If not now may be after a year. But you will find me on your pay roll sooner or later".

After three days he got a call from the company asking him if he was ready for a telephone interview. He readily agreed.

Six different people interviewed him on the phone. They told him that they will contact him in two days time.

They knew that he had to appear for another interview in some other company after three days. So after waiting for two days, he contacted the interviewer again and asked " Maam do I appear for the interview for a different company the next day.?" He was asked to wait. After fifteen minutes he was told not to appear for the interview for the other job because he got the job.
