Business Name Ideas

Your thesaurus can be the best tools you'll find for brainstorming catchy business name ideas. This step by step guide will give you tips on getting the most out of this useful tool.

Starting a business is a dream for many independent minded people and can be one of the most exciting moments in your life. If you've decided to embark down the road of being an entrepreneur, congratulations! Now that you've made that leap into being a business owner, you have several things to do. At the top of your priority list will be coming up with a great name for your business.

If you're like the majority of people, you probably don't have a long list of good potential business names. You might have come up with a few ideas, but none of them really grabbed your attention. So how do you come up with business name ideas that will get people's attention and make them curious?

Using a thesaurus during the process is a great way to be creative and come up with great business names. A thesaurus can help you think of words that you never would have thought of otherwise.

First of all, come up with a list of words that are related to your business. This list doesn't have to be long, but the more words you have the more choices you'll have for your business name. Once you develop your list of business related keywords, look them up in the thesaurus.

The thesaurus will give you a list of words that relate to each keyword. Write them all down on a piece of paper, or use your favorite word processing software (whichever works best for you is fine). This brainstorming session will net you quite a few interesting words. You should probably have a fairly long list when you are done with this part.

Don't worry if your list is long. The more words you have, the more possibilities will present themselves. You want something that you can look at and think about, and the more choices you have, the less likely you are to overlook a great business name idea.

As you scroll down through the list initially, make a mark next to the words that seem interesting or catchy. You want words that will grab someone's attention and not let go. If you don't feel any type of reaction to a word, just move on. This is why it is important to have a substantial list of words.

Once you're finished with your list of words, try to combine different words. See if anything jumps out at you. If it does, think about it for a while. Ask some other people what they think and you might have just captured one of the many possible great business name ideas.

A good brainstroming session may be all you need to brainstrom some good business name ideas. However, if you are still in need of more ideas, take a look at a few other effective ways to brainstrom catchy business names.
