Achieve Big Goals by Breaking them into Smaller Goals

I like to set BIG goals by breaking it up into small ones. For example, and this may seem silly, but when I clean I literally make my self a To-Do list that breaks my house up into rooms and the rooms into chores such as sweep, dust etc.

I own my own business so I set aside time every week to focus on brainstorming advertising ideas, client gifts, printing business cards etc.

Also, the power of the post-it note comes in handy...if you write yourself little goals and hang it up somewhere where you can see it you are more likely to accomplish that goal.

I think it is important to set realistic goals. If you set a goal like become a millionaire...well chances are that isn't going to happen (but you never know!) However, something like adopting a baby that is a long process, if you break it up into smaller goals (i.e. have application and app fee by said date) and just mark them off as you go then once you have accomplished that goal it makes it seem like you got it done that much faster!
